Last Saturday, February 28, 2009, the Santiesteban Print Schmidt Engraving Workshop was inaugurated by the Mayor of the City of Hialeah. Many media and art personalities attended the event.

The main objective of the workshop is to rescue and continue developing this millennial technique, as well as supporting local artists with the printing process, and the preparation of neophytes through courses taught by professional engravers.

An art exhibition took place as part of this experience as well, where various painters, photographers, and engravers participated. Photographer Said Bazze presented two pieces from his series “La Habana Metafisica” which were highly acclaimed by the public in general and received the enthusiastic approval of the specialized critics.
